Student and Youth Work Permit Information 7/3/24

Massachusetts requires students ages 14 to 17 who have been offered employment to obtain a work permit.

To obtain a permit, students must complete an application, including a signed Promise of Employment from their employer. The application and proof of age must be brought to the school's main office for review and issuance of the permit. The student must appear in person with proof of identification for the application to be processed. Work permits are valid for the duration of the job and job title, and a new one is needed if the student changes employers.

You may bring your completed application and proof of age to Hanover High School or Hanover Middle School during posted school hours or to Salmond School by appointment. For School hours, click the link below. Please call the school before arriving to schedule a convenient time to process your permit.
