As we enjoy the Memorial Day holiday, let's take a moment to honor and remember the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and dedication have secured the freedoms we cherish today. Join the Town of Hanover in honoring our Veterans at the annual Memorial Day Parade and Observances.

Town Offices

In observance of Memorial Day, Town offices and departments, including the Town Hall, Council on Aging, Department of Public Works, John Curtis Free Library, Transfer Station, and the Ames Way Brush Pile, will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2024.

If you need assistance during this time, please use our Town Department Directory for contact information.

Normally scheduled hours will resume on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at Saint Mary's

Join Hanover Scouts BSA Troop 38 at the Annual Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Monday, May 27, 2024, from 7:00 am to 9:30 am, at the Saint Mary's Parish Hall, 392 Hanover Street. Enjoy a delicious breakfast while supporting our Scouts and honoring our veterans.

  • Adults: $8.00
  • Seniors: $6.00
  • 12 and Under: $5.00
  • Veterans: Free of Charge. Thank you for your service!

Memorial Day Parade

Hanover's Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to start at 10:00 am at Saint Mary's Church and end at the Veterans Memorial. The parade route includes remembrances at the Hanover Center Cemetery, Hanover Town Hall, and the Sylvester School World War II Memorial. Parking is available at the Veterans Memorial, located next to B. Everett Hall Field, Saint Mary's Church, and Center School.

Memorial Day Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial

Hanover's Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at the Veterans' Memorial at approximately 11:30 am, following the parade. The ceremony includes an opening prayer, remarks from our Veterans, and a roll call during the wreath-laying. The memorial is located at 495 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA, next to the B. Everett Hall Field.
